Poor Machine Productivity

Problem Summary

Poor tissue machine productivity can be a result of excessive breaks and downtime for crepe blade changes.  The key to improvement is better control of the creping process using a Yankee coating program tailored for the machine.

If the coating builds-up too hard or heavy on the edges the coating must be softened by chemical means to reduce edge "cracks" or breaks.  Poor coating control can also contribute to excessive creping blade wear, which causes sheet picking and increased downtime for blade changes.

Recommended Solution

Crepetrol® Creping Technology in conjunction with the appropriate Rezosol® Release and/or Rezosol® Modifier Technology can be tailored to the individual machine.  These products form a protective adhesive film on the surface of the dryer that can control sheet properties, reduce blade and Yankee wear. When sprayed directly on the surface of the Yankee dryer this combination of products can offer the following benefits:

Reduced sheet breaks for edge cracks
Reduced blade wear
Improved Yankee dryer protection
Increased sheet softness
Controlled bulk and stretch
