Wilimington, DE, July 8, 2005 - - PerForm® SP Advanced Retention and Drainage Technology—designed specifically for alkaline papermaking applications—has been re-engineered to provide an even greater level of balance for sheet retention, drainage, and formation.  Already proven in numerous mill applications, this structured organic polymer improves first pass ash retention, reduces chemical costs, and enhances machine runability and stability.

Mill trials and operating experience with the newly reformulated PerForm® SP, including more than 30 applications on machines throughout North America, have proved this technology’s success, including:

Many grades of paper, including coated and uncoated fine papers, tissue and towel grades, LWC mechanical papers, white top board, recycled packaging board, and bleached board, can benefit from the PerForm® SP technology.  The high performance, flexibility, and ability to reduce operating costs of the machine have allowed the technology to effectively replace silica, bentonite, and micropolymer programs in many paper grades and types of machines.
