Jacksonville, FL, Nov. 2, 2005 - - The Pulp and Paper Division of Hercules Incorporated has introduced Kymene® 217LX low AOX wet strength resin.   This newest addition to the Kymene® wet strength range of products is a high solids (c.22%), highly efficient resin with a lower total AOX level and improved regulatory compliance.  Primarily developed for the hand towel and wipes markets, this technology can be successfully utilised in all wet strengthened papers.

Kymene® 217LX can lower OX in the finished hand-towel, lower AOX in mill effluent waters or lower free epichlorohydrin residuals (DCP/3-mCPD) in paper to comply with regulatory constraints. This cost-effective solution can add value to customers’ processes and allow entry to markets that may have previously been economically less viable.  Recorded benefits to date include lower cost-in-use, improved regulatory compliance in very high wet strength grades and improved supply chain logistics in high volume consumers with higher shipping solids.

Currently, Kymene® 217LX is only available in Benelux, Germany, Norway and Sweden.
